summer tales

J. C. Dunyach / N.Wilhelm

Little Lily picks up a piece of paper,

and write a song about her suicide.

Tangerine Annie, with roses and lilies,

plays hide and seek all around the creek.

And every night, they’re rocking the child

Whispering my words from time to time.

Angie’s the king and Jeanie the queen,

her eyes and dreams are emerald green.

They both ride a horse for an endless course,

singing old melodies from a tragedy.

Rosemary’s doll builds her house in the hall

With coloured glasses and pieces of grass.

She has a telephone and she waits for a call.

All the different answers are printed on the wall.

Leonor’s sister is in love with the preacher,

Her sister and her love to sleep in the church.

No matter how she tries, no matter how she cries,

He never lets her look right into his eyes.
